BURBANK, Calif.- Industry veteran Jack Wanamaker has sold his two Southern California equipment rental outlets to United Rentals.
United acquired Wanamaker Rents, Burbank, Calif., and A C Equipment Rentals, Inglewood, Calif., from the 84-year-old Wanamaker, who helped found the California Rental Association (now the Rental Industry Association), and whose company was among the first rent-to-rent companies ever established.
Wanamaker Rents is No. 98 on the RER 100 with a reported $6 million in 1998 rental volume.
