JLG and Gradall introduce the Model TF6-42, the first model in the new Transformer Series, which combines the unique advantages of both collections of machines.
The JLG/Gradall Model TF6-42 Transformer can be used either as a boom-mounted aerial work platform or a rough terrain telehandler. It is the first that can be converted from a boom lift with controls in the platform to a telehandler with cab controls. It is the only machine that meets both ANSI A92.5-1992 Standards for aerial work platforms and ASME B56.6b-1998 Standards for telehandlers.
“Because of its telehandler capabilities, it has two oscillating axles for better drivability over rough terrain and 10-degree leveling capability for deployment on many uneven work locations,” says David Baxter, director of marketing. “By developing this product, the rental industry receives a machine that is significantly different and better, which will help fight rate degradation and improve end user productivity.”
When used as a boom lift, a single operator in the platform can command the drive and steering functions of the machine along with the boom and platform functions. The large 4- by 8-foot platform has a 2,000-pound restricted platform capacity at 33-foot platform height, and a 500-pound unrestricted platform capacity at 49-foot platform height. Plus, the platform can be rotated 90 degrees left or right for better access to hard-to-reach locations.
Converted to a rough terrain material handler, the Transformer machine has a 6,600-pound load capacity and 42-foot maximum lift height using forks or other attachments.
