The John Deere excavator lineup continues its transformation with the updating of the 135G and 245G LC reduced-tail-swing excavators. Equipped with EPA Final Tier 4 (FT4)/EU Stage IV diesel engines, the 135G boasts 101 horsepower, while the 245G LC nets out at 159 horsepower.
The 135G and 245G LC use a Powerwise III hydraulic system that balances engine performance with hydraulic flow. Three productivity modes let operators choose the digging style that fits the job. High productivity delivers more power and faster hydraulic response to move more material, power delivers a balance of power, speed and fuel economy for normal operation, and economy reduces top speed and helps save fuel.
The 135G and 245G LC include grouped service points and at-a-glance gauges, along with an easily accessible battery disconnect switch that extends battery life. The engine requires no diesel particulate filter (DPF), and extended service intervals help maximize uptime.
D-channel side frames that house and protect the coolers and FT4 engine, along with a sealed and lubricated undercarriage that features large idlers, rollers and strutted track links.
The cab features sculpted mechanical-suspension high-back seats and a standard air-suspension heated seat in the 245G LC. A multi-language LCD monitor and rotary dial provide access to information and functions. The excavators also include an automatic, high-velocity bi-level climate-control system with automotive-style adjustable louvers to help keep the glass clear and the cab comfortable.
