The C12LC and C12FCH are two new additions to Hitachi Power Tools' 12-inch compound miter saw lineup. Each saw incorporates one of the major features of the C12LCH, which features an LCD display and laser marker. By eliminating a key feature, the new saws are available for a lower price point. The C12LC includes the digital LCD display to view miter and bevel readings for increased precision and accuracy.

“The fine bevel adjustment allows you to slightly adjust the bevel,” says Abby Bradford, manager of marketing communications for Hitachi. “You can finely tune it to get it exactly where you want it.”

The C12FCH features the laser marker that indicates where the blade will cut on the material. The laser marker can also be adjusted to the right or left depending on the user's preference.

The saws are powered by a 15-amp motor with 1,950 watts of maximum output power to smoothly cut through hardwoods. A pivoting aluminum fence that stands at a height of 5⅛-inch allows crown molding to be cut vertically. The miter ranges from zero to 52 degrees, to the right and left, for a broad range of cuts. Miter angles can be quickly adjusted using Hitachi's thumb actuated positive stops. The saws also feature a horizontal handle, which is more comfortable when cutting, according to Bradford.
