Quincy Compressors, a manufacturer owned by Atlas Copco, will consolidate the company’s two U.S.-based manufacturing facilities into a single location in Bay Minette, Ala., the company announced. As a result, 152 positions will be affected at Quincy’s Illinois operation, and an undetermined number of new positions will be created at the Alabama location. The company estimated that the transition will be concluded over the next 12 months.

The company said the Alabama operation best positions the company to fully leverage efficiencies and synergies as well as further enhance its commitment to customers.

Quincy Compressor employs about 550 people. Quincy is a designer and manufacturer of reciprocating and rotary screw air compressors, vacuum pumps and a full line of air treatment components.
