JLG Awarded Additional U.S. Army Order for ATLAS Telehandlers

McConnellsburg, Pa.-based JLG Industries last week announced it received a delivery order valued at $39.5 million for ATLAS telehandlers to the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command. This order is in addition to a previous $23 million contract awarded in August 2006, bringing the total value to $62.5 million. In addition, there is an option to purchase up to 60 additional ATLAS vehicles with an estimated value of $8.6 million.

This order is in addition to a previous $23 million contract awarded in August 2006, bringing the total value to $62.5 million. In addition, there is an option to purchase up to 60 additional ATLAS vehicles with an estimated value of $8.6 million. The ATLAS telehandlers will be delivered for deployment to the U.S. Army Reserve, U.S. National Guard, and foreign military sales customers.

The ATLAS telehandler is designed to transport a variety of materials through water, sand, mud and other rugged terrain encountered by U.S. troops. The ATLAS is equipped with 4-wheel drive, and features high ground clearance, frame leveling and sufficient horsepower. A multitude of attachments are available such as various fork configurations, a utility bucket, and fork-rollers to provide added versatility.
