Milwaukee-based Briggs & Stratton Commercial Power last week announced Justin Joerman, branch leader at SavATree in Mountainside, N.J, as the winner of the Vanguard Power Chase contest. Joerman won a four-day trip for two to Daytona Beach, Fla., for racing’s premier event in February.
With Briggs & Stratton’s Vanguard Power Chase, an interactive contest, dealers and customers were asked to simply pick which drivers they thought would do well in the final 10 races of the stock car season. The contest was free to enter.
“I tried to keep an eye on the average finishing position of each driver and ride whoever stayed hot,” Joerman said. “Luckily, I was able to grab and hold first place for most of the Chase, but I’m just extremely happy and shocked.”
In its first year, the Vanguard Power Chase had hundreds of participants choosing racecar drivers in a “pick ‘em” style throughout the final 10 races of the 2010 stockcar season. Points were awarded based on where the drivers finished.
