Wynne Systems Signs Sunbelt

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Wynne Systems, which makes RentalMan, the rental software system used by many of the industry's largest companies, has signed Sunbelt Rentals, executive director Mike Stilwagner told RER.

“We're on a fast-paced transition to have Sunbelt completely operational on RentalMan by March 1, 2003,” Stilwagner said.

Charlotte, N.C.-based Sunbelt has 193 branches. The company has been using MCS, a system from the United Kingdom where Sunbelt's parent company is based.

Stilwagner said that about 60 percent of the revenue of the RER 100 and about 70 percent of the revenue of the top 10 of the RER 100 is managed by Long Beach, Calif.-based Wynne Systems, which is owned by industry leader United Rentals. Its users include United, Rental Service Corp., Hertz Equipment Rental Corp., Neff Rentals, Sunstate Equipment, Ahern Rentals and GE Energy Rentals.

Sunbelt is No. 5 on the RER 100.
