NORWALK, Conn. — SmartEquip will provide a number of United Rentals branch locations with electronic parts catalogs, service documentation and e-commerce functionality. SmartEquip is rolling out its e-FleetPRO technology to a number of United Rentals branch locations to bring manufacturer parts and service support electronically to technicians, parts managers, and service managers.

E-FleetPRO provides a one-stop shop for manuals and other service documentation, including parts diagrams, safety notices and machine spec information, the company says. This information is linked directly to United's existing work order and purchase order systems, allows for local, regional and national parts inventory searches, and provides users the ability to order parts directly from manufacturers.

“We are always seeking means to improve the efficiency of our operations,” said United Rentals president John Milne. “The promise of SmartEquip's technology therefore is very attractive to us.”

United Rentals is No. 1 on the RER 100.
