Thirty years after founding Carson, Calif.-based Multiquip, Irv Levine retired December 19.

“It's been an unbelievable experience for me and one hell of a ride,” said Levine, who is credited with helping build North America's rental industry.

Levine founded Multiquip in Long Beach, Calif., in 1973, establishing the company as the exclusive distributor for Mikasa compaction equipment. Today, Multiquip has surpassed more than $200 million in annual sales with offices in England, Mexico, Canada and Brazil.

Tom Yasuda is Multiquip's new CEO. He has been associated with the company for more than 20 years, serving most recently as executive vice president.
