LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Online marketplace Ironmax.com has obtained commitments from several investment firms to provide $10 million in venture capital. The investors include Chrysalis Ventures, Iceberg Ventures, Prosperitas Investment Partners, CMGI and CMGI Ventures.

Ironmax was founded here last year and provides a marketplace where prospective equipment users can get quotes and locate equipment for rental or purchase. CEO Steve Paradis said Ironmax.com already has about 1,000 equipment suppliers and 1,000 users.

Paradis told RER the capital will be used to "add financing, logistics and other support services that help make transactions easier for our customers." The capital also will enable the company to expand its staff from its current 45 to about 100 and complete preparation of a new, larger facility.
