Sir Anthony Bamford, chairman and managing director of JCB, visited the company's Savannah, Ga., United States headquarters recently to celebrate the production of its 300,000th backhoe loader.

The company has been manufacturing backhoe loaders since the late company founder Joseph Cyril Bamford invented the first JCB backhoe loader in 1954. JCB has manufactured backhoe loaders for the North American market since January 2000.
