PHOENIX — Acme Lift Company, a leading rental firm specializing in the re-rental of aerial work platforms, last month announced its launch of SmartEquip's e-FleetPro Parts & Service Manager, a software system designed to increase fleet efficiency and reduce costs in the maintenance and support of its equipment fleet as well as manage and order parts.

Using SmartEquip technology, the system is integrated with the company's rental management system and provides a single easy-to-access source for asset-specific parts and service support, including intelligent electronic parts catalogs, operator manuals, troubleshooting guides, safety notices and equipment specifications. Typical results from implementing SmartEquip's system include fleet utilization improvement of 3 percentage points or more and a reduction of part order errors as high as 90 percent.

“Acme Lift prides itself on industry leadership through innovation in our business and in using advanced technologies to effectively service and support our equipment and our customers,” said Woody Weld, Acme Lift president. “Our customers include the largest and most demanding fleet owners in this industry. We have chosen SmartEquip technology to ensure that our equipment, no matter where it is, can be serviced quickly, correctly, and reliably.”

Alexander Schuessler, SmartEquip's president and CEO, added, “Acme Lift appreciates the business impact of increased fleet utilization resulting from reduced parts-related downtime and faster, error-free parts ordering. SmartEquip applications are built to deliver real-time value by lowering the fleet owner's total cost of ownership. And that's a major benefit for OEMs and fleet owners alike.”

Phoenix-based Acme Lift Co. was founded in 1998 to provide large, top-quality aerial work platforms to rental companies throughout the United States, delivering cost-effective and profitable re-rental opportunities featuring brands such as Grove, JLG and Snorkel.

SmartEquip Inc., Norwalk, Conn., provides gateway solutions for the construction equipment industry including equipment lifecycle management applications delivering parts, service, warranty, telematics and other essential real-time transactions across an electronic network that connects manufacturers and distributors to fleet owners that rent and service their equipment.
