French access equipment manufacturer Haulotte posted consolidated sales of €139.3 million (about U.S. $172.5 million) in the fourth quarter of 2017 compared to €114.4 million in the fourth quarter of 2016, a 21.8-percent boost. The fourth quarter numbers were a 31-percent increase compared to the third quarter.

For the full year, consolidated sales were €510 million compared to €457.8 million in 2016, an 11.4-percent hike.

Sales of aerial work platforms jumped 21 percent in 2017, showing Haulotte’s position is strengthening in North America. Haulotte did well in most European markets, and increased revenue 19 percent year over year. Asia Pacific grew revenue 7.5 percent at constant exchange rates, thanks to a strong rebound in fourth quarter sales in the Middle East and Asia.

The decline in scaffolding sales in North America by 25 percent prevented Haulotte from growing its sales in the region, despite the large increase in AWPs.

Despite a slump in the Mexican market, sales in Latin America jumped 6 percent at constant exchange rates, showing improvement in other markets.

Haulotte expects sales to grow close to 10 percent in 2018.
