LiuGong Finalizes Acquisition of Polish Manufacturer HSW

Chinese construction equipment manufacturer LiuGong Machinery Corp. has finalized its agreement to acquire Polish manufacturer Huta Stalowa Wola and its distribution subsidiary Dressta Co. The agreement was signed by both companies' executives in Warsaw.

Chinese construction equipment manufacturer LiuGong Machinery Corp. has finalized its agreement to acquire Polish manufacturer Huta Stalowa Wola and its distribution subsidiary Dressta Co. The agreement was signed by both companies' executives in Warsaw.

David Beatenbough, current vice president of research and development for Liugong was named chairman of the board of the new entity, LiuGong Machinery Poland. The acquisition is LiuGong’s first outside of China.

“Our gaining and retaining the technical knowledge and skills of the HSW employees was important to us in this agreement,” said Beatenbough. “It is still important for us to remain competitive in our markets and this agreement lets us do that.”

LiuGong is a manufacturer of wheel loaders, bulldozers, skid-steer loaders, forklifts, motor graders, excavators, rollers, drilling machines, truck-mounted and crawler cranes, pavers, cold planers, concrete equipment and mining dump trucks.

HSW was established in 1937 and manufactures crawler dozers, wheel loaders, loggers, pipe layers, conveyer belt shifters, motor graders and machines for landfill applications. Its plant location in central Europe is closer to LiuGong’s European customers.
