Genie team member Scott Owyen was recently promoted to regional sales manager; he will oversee sales and customer support for all United Rentals branches in western Canada, Washington, Oregon, northern California, Idaho and Reno, Nev.
Owyen first joined Genie in 1983 as a production specialist, later moving through five different positions within the company, including shipping lead, production section manager, training manager, team leader for Genie University, and most recently, product manager. Before working at Genie, Owyen was a test mechanic at Boeing for three years.
Headquartered in Redmond, Wash., with branch offices worldwide, Genie Industries manufactures material lifts, aerial work platforms, trailer-mounted booms and light towers, scissor lifts and self-propelled telescopic and articulating booms.
