GE Energy is providing 80 megawatts of extra capacity to Western Power Corp. of Perth, Australia, to help meet the higher electricity demand of customers in Western Australia during the summer season.

Four GE TM2500™ gas turbines arrived in Australia in mid-November and will be used from December 1, 2004 to March 31, 2005, which are peak electricity demand months in the region. The rental units will be located at WPC's Pinjar Gas Turbine Station. The scope of GE's contract with WPC includes transportation of the units to the site, assembly, commissioning, operation and disassembly.
