International Powered Access Federation last week announced that Jordan Barab, deputy assistant secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health, and second in command at OSHA, will address the IPAF Summit in Miami on March 26.

Barab’s presentation is entitled “Scaling New Heights in Fall Protection.” Other speakers at the Summit include key note speaker Ron DeFeo, president of Terex; Michael Kneeland, president of United Rentals; Tim Hatch, vice president of global engineering at JLG Industries; Andy Studdert, CEO of NES Rentals; and Sérgio Kariya, director of Brazilian rental company Mills Rental.

“We are delighted that Mr. Barab will share his thoughts on preventing falls from height with us at the IPAF Summit — he has been a tireless champion of safety in the work place and his presentation will be much anticipated,” said Tim Whiteman, IPAF CEO.

The conference theme is “Safety from the Top” and it takes place in the Miami Hilton on March 26. There is no charge to attend, but places are limited and must be reserved at www.iapa-summit.info. The IPAF Summit will be followed by the International Awards for Powered Access, a gala dinner event for which some tickets are still available.

IPAF is a not-for-profit members’ organization that promotes the safe and effective use of powered access equipment worldwide.
