TNT Crane & Rigging has acquired the assets of Rent-A-Crane Inc., an Oklahoma City-based provider of crane lifting services to the energy industry in Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle. This acquisition strengthens TNT’s geographic footprint in the Mid-Continent region and offers significant growth potential for the combined operations. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The two companies’ shared experience and focus on energy and energy-related end markets is a complementary strategic fit and will enable TNT to capitalize on new opportunities and expand its presence in the region.

“The acquisition of Rent-A-Crane bolsters TNT’s existing footprint through additional contiguous geography and supports further penetration into the Mid-Continent energy market,” said Michael Appling Jr., CEO of TNT. “Rent-A-Crane’s 30-year history in the region, coupled with TNT’s capabilities will provide significant growth opportunities and enhanced service for our combined customer base going forward.”

“This combination will provide our customers a large and diversified offering of lifting and rigging services and enable our employees to share in the continued successful growth of the business,” said Gary Rohlmeier, CEO of Rent-A-Crane.

Rent-A-Crane also has a strong customer base in the infrastructure, power and commercial markets that TNT serves in the South and Southeastern United States.

“Even more importantly, Rent-A-Crane brings a solid group of experienced and talented managers and operators that will lead our expansion in this rapidly growing market,” added TNT president Kregg Lunsford.

Over the past few years, TNT Crane & Rigging has made several acquisitions, including Southway Crane & Rigging, Turner Bros. Crane, and Louisiana Crane.

Based in Houston, TNT Crane & Riggins is No. 16 on the RER 100.
