Giant scaffolding rental specialist Safway Group has opened a multi-service branch in Baton Rouge, La., providing scaffolding rental and high-end industrial coatings and insulation capabilities.
Safway will reach out to Louisiana’s refining and petroleum markets with services that will include span planning, engineering, project management, access and scaffold equipment, coatings and insulation.
“Commercial and industrial clients in Louisiana have trusted Safway for many years, thanks to our existing locations in the states,” said Sam Pruet, a Baton Rouge native and manager of the new branch. “But the Baton Rouge area is a dynamic community with a growing need for high-end services, so we’re very happy to support the community’s progress with a local presence. We expect more than a third of Safway’s eight-figure Louisiana revenue to come from coatings and insulation this year.”
The Baton Rouge facility features a nearby five-acre blast yard, which allows for efficient surface preparation of large equipment in a controlled environment.
“Owners like our blast yard because it means their work gets a top quality coating before it arrives at the installation site,” said Pruet. “It keeps their site clean, and speeds up installation when all they have to do is touch-up coating.”
The facility can also handle tanker trucks that need to be blasted and painted to comply with new state regulations.
Safway will also be providing HVAC services, which Safway will be providing for the first time after hiring Baton Rouge HVAC contractor Holenn Rousell.
The branch, actually located in nearby Gonzales, La., has a 16,000-square-foot building.
“We serve clients best when we use local people who are invested in their own communities, so it’s great that we’ve been able to hire about 100 talented Baton Rouge people to work on jobsites throughout Louisiana,” added Pruet.
Headquartered in Waukesha, Wis., Safway Group has more than 90 branches. The company is No. 16 on the RER 100.
