Ritchie Bros. to Hold Grand Opening at New Australian Auction Facility

March 6, 2013

Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers will celebrate the grand opening of its new auction facility at its Geelong site in Australia, including a new 2,490-square-meter auction building March 19. Company officials will be joined by local dignitaries who will cut the ribbon during a mid-morning ceremony in the main auction theater. More than 800 pieces of heavy equipment and trucks will be featured in the opening auction, with more items still being added.

The auction site is more than 40 acres and is less than an hour from Melbourne.

“We’ve been conducting auctions in Geelong since 2009 and are proud to offer our customers a new state-of-the-art auction facility,” said Warwick Mackrell, vice president of sales. “The site was made with the purpose of making it as easy as possible for contractors to buy and sell equipment locally, across all of Australia and to markets around the world from this one location.”
