J&F Reddy Rents, a family-owned general equipment rental store in St. Louis Park, Minn., celebrates its 50thyear in business in 2013. The company will host a series of events throughout the year to commemorate the anniversary, including a floor-sanding class on the second Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. that allows participants to use floor sanders on an actual hardwood floor.
The company was started by Jack Fitzgerald and his uncle in 1963 to serve contractors and homeowners in the west metro Minneapolis area.
In 1976, Fitzgerald expanded to a second location when he purchased a trailer rental business in South Minneapolis. That location relocated in 1982 to a larger facility that today offers a full line of rental equipment and propane sales.
The St. Louis Park location moved to a larger building in 1989 and now offers a full line of trailers, a propane exchange service and a fleet of rental cars.
Today Reddy Rents is operated by Fitzgerald’s children who continued to run the business after their father passed away in 2008 after a battle with cancer. The two-location rental business has a staff of more than 25 employees.
Reddy Rents will also host its annual Ladies Day in the fall and will announce other events on its Facebook page and website throughout the year.
