Cross Country Pipeline Supply has added two former Hertz Equipment Rental Corp. executives to its management team. Cross Country, which provides equipment and supplies to the domestic oil and gas pipeline construction industry has named Dave D’Angelo as its chief financial officer and Anthony Gonnella as vice president of sales, both reporting directly to CEO Gerry Plescia.

D’Angelo and Gonnella both worked closely with Plescia at HERC, where Plescia served as president for more than a decade.

“Dave and Tony have decades of relevant experience and I am very pleased they are bringing their expertise to Cross Country,” said Plescia. “We have an excellent working relationship and I believe they will be a perfect fit with our management team as we further expand Cross Country’s leading position in providing quality rental equipment, supplies, and service to pipeline contractors throughout the U.S.”

D’Angelo was vice president and controller of HERC from 1998 through 2010 and has more than 30 years of finance and operations executive experience in rental. He also served as president and operating partner with DPD Consulting and SNK Capital, and most recently was controller for Advantage Rent-a-Car.

Gonnella has more than 25 years of experience in sales and operations management in the equipment rental industry. He held positions of global vice president of sales and vice president of national accounts during his tenure with HERC from 1997 through 2011. He also spearheaded the development of HERC’s Plant Services Group.

Plescia, D’Angelo and Gonnella were core players in a group that grew HERC from a $400 million predominantly U.S.-based construction equipment rental company in the late 1990s, to a $1.8 billion global company.

Cross Country is based in Aurora, Colo., with branches in Pennsylvania and Texas.
