Linamar Corp. announced this week that Ken Myers was named president of Skyjack, replacing Steve Shaughnessy.
Myers previously held the post of group president for the Powertrain division of Linamar’s automotive manufacturing sector. Before joining Linamar, Myers held executive positions for Arvin Meritor, a manufacturer of automotive components; Roof Systems, and Worldwide Stopping Systems.
“We believe that this appointment will offer significant benefits both to the organization and to our customers who have come to depend on Skyjack as synonymous with quality and innovation in the aerial lift market,” said Linamar president and COO Jim Jarrell.
Linamar CEO Linda Hasenfratz added that Myers “has a great track record for business growth, tailored for today’s evolving global market.”
Linamar provided no explanation for Shaughnessy’s departure and efforts to reach Linamar officials were unsuccessful at press time. Shaughnessy, a 30-year veteran of the aerial rental industry, with executive positions at Shaughnessy Crane Services, NES Rental, A-Plant and Loxam, became Skyjack president in December of last year. Shaughnessy is also currently serving a two-year term as president of the International Powered Access Federation. IPAF said Shaughnessy will continue as IPAF president.
Skyjack is based in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
