About 100 rental companies and 250 rental delegates attended the California Rental Association Rental Rally at the Pomona Fairplex in Pomona, Calif., Jan. 13-15. The show featured more than 120 exhibit booths in a relaxed atmosphere at the spacious fairgrounds.
Among the show highlights was the presentation of the James Gartland Award, named for the late Gartland, founder of RER. The award is given annually to a rental industry participant for service to CRA and the rental industry as a whole. This year’s award was presented by RER editor Michael Roth to Robert Pedersen, president of Campbell, Calif.-based A Tool Shed. Pedersen is a former CRA president and current chairman of the board, who has served as secretary and treasurer as well as participated on the Associate Member Liaison, Investment, Education and IT committees. Pedersen was recently elected ARA Region 9 director.
CRA executive director Dale Blackwell announced that next year’s trade show and rental rally will be held in Las Vegas at the South Point Casino & Resort, Jan. 28 and 29, 2015.
