Aztec Tents & Events Acquires Abbey Event Services

Todd Johnson, president of Houston-based Aztec Tents & Events last week announced that Aztec acquired Abbey Event Services of San Antonio, a 30-year fixture in the special events rental industry in San Antonio.

Todd Johnson, president of Houston-based Aztec Tents & Events last week announced that Aztec acquired Abbey Event Services of San Antonio, a 30-year fixture in the special events rental industry in San Antonio.

Earlier this year, Aztec acquired the then-unrelated Aztec Events Party Rentals of San Antonio. Aztec Tents & Events is the largest provider of special event rental equipment in Texas and was recently ranked by Special Events magazine as the sixth largest special event rental company in the United States.

“Abbey has a great reputation in the San Antonio area,” said Johnson. “We are very excited to have Abbey as part of the Aztec team. In 2007, we will be moving the businesses to a larger, combined facility for maximum efficiencies and improved customer service. The bottom line of this acquisition is to offer the Abbey customer base and more specifically, all of the San Antonio market, more selection via a broader product offering including enhanced tent capabilities.”

Cameron Park, Calif., and Arlington, Texas-based Hageman, Stansberry & Associates represented Abbey Event Services in the transaction, terms of which were not disclosed.
