Serious Thermal Products introduces its Serious Toaster ground-thawing machine, designed using patented infrared technology to thaw frozen ground more than three times faster than similar competitive units, the maker says.
Each Serious Toaster machine thaws up to 1.6 inches deep per hour in a 2-foot by 10-foot area. Multiple units can be placed together in a series or any other configuration to accommodate larger applications. The Toasters are controlled by a solid-state electronic system and are fueled by clean-burning propane, making them environmentally friendly. The do not produce open flames so they can be safely placed next to buildings and utility pedestals.
“The Serious Toaster is designed to quickly and efficiently thaw ground for utility construction and repairs,” says Dale Befus, director, Serious Thermal Products. “The set-up time is minimal and it can be placed over snow and ice, and next to buildings or structures. The Toaster makes it possible for contractors to work year round, and long life and low maintenance make it a good tool to have in a rental tool box.”
Weighing 345 pounds each, Toasters fit in standard pickup beds and can be easily moved by two men. The units can be placed in hard-to-reach areas, and they do not require the surface to be cleared of snow and ice prior to use. Components are tested to perform in temperatures as low as -40F. www.serioustoaster.com/
