According to a report byKHL.com, United Kingdom-based heavy equipment rental specialist Hawk Plant Hire has taken over Terex’s U.K. rental fleet of 30 to 35 articulated trucks and also acquired nine new Terex articulated haulers. Based on the alliance between the two companies, Hawk will rent the machines in the U.K. along with its fleet of more than 800 units, and also will offer rental and re-rentals in Europe through Terex dealers.
John Rotherford, Terex Construction’s vice president of marketing/distribution, told European Rental News that Terex decided that short-term rentals of its machines “wasn’t our business” and that the alliance with Hawk –which will eventually own the Terex machines – meant that it could also supply Terex dealers throughout the region who require machines for short durations.
