Rental One, a RER 100 company and one of the fastest growing, independent construction equipment rental companies, has joined the SmartEquip network. Established in 2004 by the widely respected O’Neal family, Rental One has evolved into a significant company in the Texas rental industry with six locations in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex area, and plans for additional expansion.
Leveraging SmartEquip’s integration to the company’s RentalMan rental management system, Rental One aims to capitalize on savings from optimizing its product support process.
“As an independent rental company, our aim is to utilize state-of-art technology to increase our abilities to provide excellent care and value to our customers,” said Mike O’Neal, Rental One vice president. “SmartEquip’s technology elevates us in achieving that aim. The company’s technology enables us to be proactive in product support — anticipating problems before they happen and allowing us to integrate with our suppliers to lower costs for our mutual gain.”
Alex Schuessler, chairman and CEO of SmartEqup added, “By joining the SmartEquip Network, Rental One’s locations will experience a more streamlined parts and service process, increased fleet uptime and an overall decrease in the cost of fleet ownership. The SmartEquip Network provides real-time connectivity between the company’s rental locations and the fleet and customer support systems of their preferred suppliers. We are honored to be affiliated with the O’Neal family — their values and heritage. In one’s lifetime, it is unique to work with an organization that is deeply rooted in time-tested values and perfectly centered on the customer, fostering a perpetual culture of excellence.”
SmartEquip’s applications are fully integrated with Rental One’s RentalMan business system, automating many previously time-consuming and error-prone components of equipment service, inventory management, parts procurement and other processes critical to the management and support of equipment fleets. Rental One will also utilize the SmartEquip Network to conduct electronic commerce with a large variety of non-equipment vendors, including shop supplies and a wide variety of “non-direct” expenditures.
SmartEquip’s mission is to provide an industry platform that enables manufacturers, distributors and equipment owners to dramatically increase asset productivity while reducing the cost of doing business. The SmartEquip network supports key product support activities — from parts, and service to safety, training, warranty submission, and electronic procurement. Manufacturer participants include APT, Allmand Bros., Deutz, Doosan Infracore Portable Power (Ingersoll-Rand), Gradall Telehandlers, Genie, JLG, John Deere, LeeBoy, Lull, Magnum Products, Manitou, Mi-T-M, Multiquip, Power Solutions, SkyTrak, Sakai, Sullair, Sullivan, Takeuchi, Volvo Construction Equipment, Allmand Bros, American Pneumatic Tools and Wacker Neuson. Fleet owner participants include rental companies such as Acme Lift, The CAT Rental Stores, Rental One, Sunbelt Rentals, United Rentals, Volvo Rents and more.
