The new RT9000E from Grove offers crane users a new dimension in rough terrain capacity, the mobility of an RT, familiar and operator friendly Grove controls in a package designed for easy transport, maintenance and serviceability.

The crane features a five section, full power 42- to 160-foot Megaform boom, which provides a 169-foot maximum tip height on the main boom and a 140-foot maximum radius with 3,770 pounds capacity. A standard 36- to 59-foot lattice bifold extension is offsettable at 0, 20 and 40 degrees and stows alongside the base boom section. An optional 0- to 40-degree hydraulically offsettable bifold swingaway with the same dimensions is also available. Two 26-foot lattice extension inserts are available, which provide a maximum tip height of 279 feet.

“The RT9000E is the only RT crane that can easily self-remove almost 64,000 pounds for transport,” says Tim Cody, manager market support. “It has two axles compared to a comparable five axle all terrain. Its shorter wheel base offers much better maneuverability than an all terrain on long term jobsites.”

The crane has powershift transmission that provides six forward and three reverse speeds. Maximum speed is 24 miles per hour. Four main steering modes provide exceptional maneuverability: front only, rear only, crab and coordinated. Automatic full hydraulic lockouts on the rear axle permit 10 inches oscillation with the boom centered over the front.
