AUSTELL, Ga. — About 500 people attended a 90-year anniversary celebration and customer appreciation day April 17 at Georgia Caterpillar dealer Yancey Bros. Equipment's main branch in Austell, Ga., Yancey's advertising and promotion manager Jim Radcliffe told RER. The event, attended primarily by Yancey Bros. customers, featured a skid-steer loader operator contest, various displays and demonstrations of Caterpillar equipment and services set up trade-show style in an 8,000-square-foot tent, and tours of the company's vast facilities.
The previous day about 300 invited guests attended a program in which Caterpillar CEO and chairman James Owens spoke.
Yancey Bros., No. 49 on the RER 100, claims to be the oldest Caterpillar dealer in the nation. It also operates seven independent Cat Rental Store facilities.
