Sunbelt Rentals, the second largest equipment rental in North America, has made its first foray into the Canadian rental market with the acquisition of GWG Rentals Ltd., a six-location company serving British Columbia and Alberta. GWG Rentals has locations in Burnaby, Surrey, Abbotsford and Richmond, British Columbia, as well as Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta.
GWG Rentals is a strong player with wide-ranging construction inventory in compaction, aerial, material handling, earthmoving and other items.
Sunbelt’s parent company last week announced the acquisition during its quarterly presentation to investors.
Catalyst Strategic Advisors LLC acted as the exclusive financial advisor to GWG Rentals Ltd.
Based in Fort Mill, S.C., Sunbelt Rentals is No. 2 on the RER 100.
