Atlas Copco Boosts Revenue 7 Percent in Q2

Atlas Copco’s revenues increased 7 percent in the second quarter to SEK 23.348 billion (about U.S. $3.4 billion), compared to SEK 21.843 billion in the second quarter of 2013.

Atlas Copco’s revenues increased 7 percent in the second quarter to SEK 23.348 billion (about U.S. $3.4 billion), compared to SEK 21.843 billion in the second quarter of 2013. Profit for the period was SEK 3.207 billion (about U.S. $469 million), compared to SEK 3.137 billion in the year-ago quarter.

The overall demand for Atlas Copco’s equipment improved sequentially compared to the previous quarter. The order intake for industrial compressors and for industrial tools and assembly systems increased and was stable for construction and mining equipment. Edwards, the newly acquired vacuum solutions business, had a strong quarter.

Order volumes increased for industrial tools and assembly systems on a year-over-year basis and decreased slightly for compressors and construction and mining equipment.
