Aerial Rental Giant Riwal Names Pedro Torres CEO
International aerial work platform and telehandler rental and sales specialist Riwal has named Pedro Torres CEO, effective immediately. Torres’ appointment is based on his extensive 25 years of managerial experience in the international rental industry.
Torres joined Riwal in 2012 as regional director and was promoted to chief operating officer in 2015. Torres has strongly contributed to the positive operational results of the company and the implementation of The Riwal Way, a continuous improvement program that Riwal executives say has transformed the company’s culture. Torres, along with chief financial officer Réne Timmers and chief business development officer Søren Rosenkrands, directed the continued growth of Riwal’s international operations during this period.
"We are so glad to have been able to select the right person for the job from within the company,” said Ellen Meijer, a member of Riwal’s board of directors. “The other members or Riwal’s executive management team fully support Pedro Torres’ appointment. Pedro’s operational and strategic skills, as well as his ability to enable team performance makes him highly suited for the job.”
Riwal’s most recent CEO was Norty Turner, who led the company from 2012 until October 2018.
Riwal, established in 1968 and headquartered in Dordrecht, The Netherlands, has 75 branch operations in 16 countries, operates more than 19,000 units and conducts business in more than 70 countries.
