Manitowoc has opened a new facility in Cajicá, Colombia, a municipality nine miles north of Bogotá. With a large inventory of parts and components, the new facility is designed to support customers and maximize machine uptime. In addition to streamlining parts, components and crane purchasing processes, a dedicated team of experts offers technical services and training.

“With this new facility we have enhanced our customer support in Colombia,” said Carlos Casallas, regional business manager for Manitowoc in Colombia and Ecuador. “The feedback has been outstanding. Having direct access to parts and services has cut delivery times by half, leading to greater efficiency on job sites and substantial cost savings for crane owners.”

The Colombian office follows the opening of a new facility in Lima, Peru, a little more than a year ago. With this latest expansion, Manitowoc now operates from five locations in Latin America – Colombia; Peru; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Santiago, Chile; and Monterrey, Mexico.

According to Christián Galaz, general manager for Manitowoc in Latin America, the investments reflect Manitowoc’s commitment to strengthening its regional presence while staying closer and focused on its customers, from large fleet owners to small businesses that rely on their Grove and Manitowoc cranes for their operations.

“Delivering parts and services faster has already resulted in great ROI for our customers,” Galaz said. “Being geographically closer to our customers allows us to build trust and enhance their overall experience.”
