Sinoboom MEWP Range Extender Converts Electric Boom Lifts into Hybrid Models
Sinoboom has recently debuted a new addition to its MEWP offering, in the form of a range extender that can convert electric boom lifts into hybrid models. With product trials underway, the reception and demand from the market has been highly positive, the company says. Customers have praised its adaptability, along with its highly integrated modular design, high energy conversion efficiency, and fast charging capabilities.
“Sinoboom is delighted at the level of positive feedback and interest in our new range extender,” said Peter Peng, head of the product management department at Sinoboom. “Its design has been highly optimized to meet customers’ expectations for adaptability and cost-effectiveness in high-reach scenarios. Compatible electric boom lifts can be easily transformed into hybrid models with the addition of the range extender, this represents truly modular design.”
Range extender
The extender provides a cost-effective, modular solution for those who want to have both electric and hybrid models. The highly integrated design offers fitting in less than one hour, as well as simplified maintenance and storage, plus transportation via forklift slots. The extender is equipped with a Kubota 9.9 kW engine for stability and reliability, along with a 6 kW or 8KW permanent magnet generator with high energy conversion efficiency.
Once connected to the range extender, machines can benefit from automatic or manual charging modes, where automatic charging kicks in when the battery drops to 30 percent and will turn off at 80 percent charge. A fast charge of 80 percent can be achieved in 3.5 hours, and machine operation time can be extended by up to 50 days (depending on the model and usage). Operators can take advantage of controls at ground level or on the platform, to toggle between automatic or manual charging modes. Sinoboom’s range extender is a solution for fleets where high reach is required but access to charging is not always guaranteed.
Sinoboom’s range extender is available with the following electric telescopic boom models:
TB20EJ Plus (TB600EJ Plus)
TB22EJ Plus (TB740EJ Plus)
TB26EJ Plus (TB860EJ Plus)
TB28EJ Plus (TB910EJ Plus)
