Several rental companies among the RER 100 opened new branch locations last month.

Volvo Construction Equipment Rents opened a new Volvo Rents equipment rental franchise in Donna, Texas, near McAllen. This is the company's fifth rental center in the state; others are in Houston, Austin, McKinney and San Antonio.

Garcia-Sanchez Enterprises, llc, owned by franchise principal Osvaldo Garcia Jr., owns the new Volvo Rents franchise.

Volvo Rents has 67 equipment rental centers open in North America and 62 centers in Europe. Based in Asheville, N.C., Volvo Rents is No. 15 on the RER 100.

United Rentals recently opened a branch in Santa Fe, N.M. The Greenwich, Conn.-based company also has branches in Albuquerque, Farmington and Las Cruces, N.M.

No. 1 on the RER 100, United Rentals has more than 760 branches in 48 U.S. states and 10 Canadian provinces.

Hertz Equipment Rental Corp. last month celebrated the grand opening of three new general rental facilities, and the grand re-opening of its Richland/Jackson, Miss., location. The new Jackson facility features 3,000 square feet of showroom space and is housed on a 2-acre lot. It is the first and only Hertz Equipment general rental facility in the state.

HERC's new Bakersfield, Calif., general rental facility, housed on an 11-acre lot, features a new 1,500-square-foot showroom. Its new Fairfield, N.J., general rental facility has a 16,000-square-foot showroom, and the new 10,000-square-foot Seattle facility is housed on a three-and-a-half acre lot in downtown Seattle's SODO District. Its features include offices, training rooms, an 8,000-square-foot warehouse and a 6,000-square-foot heavy equipment shop.

With more than 265 locations in the United States and Canada, and an additional 95 locations in France and Spain, Park Ridge, N.J.-based HERC is No. 3 on the RER 100.

Little Rock, Ark.-based J.A. Riggs Tractor Co., Caterpillar dealer in Arkansas, last month held an open house at its new $7 million Springdale dealership.

Riggs moved into the 60,000-square-foot facility in Sept-ember. The new facility replaces an older location. It offers rental and repair services in addition to larger Caterpillar equipment. The company has 10 locations in Arkansas.
