General Equipment

General Equipment Co.'s GP21 positive pressure ventilator borrows heavily from the positive pressure technology used by fire departments for smoke removal. The gas-powered ventilator is the first positive pressure ventilator designed specifically for construction-related applications. Powered by a 5 1/2-hp Honda gasoline engine, the model GP21 produces an airflow rate of 11,000 cfm with a static capacity of 5 inches or more. An electric-powered model (EP17) is also available.

Allmand

The Maxi Heat's in-direct fired design draws in and heats outside air, delivering contaminant-free, warm, dry air precisely where needed for the particular job. Combustion gasses exhaust away from the machine to create an ideal environment for curing concrete and drywall mud, warehouse construction and other cold weather applications. The enclosed twin heater units are rated at a total output of 1,000,000 BTUs per hour delivering a maximum of 5,600 cfm, with as much as a 180-degree Fahrenheit temperature rise above ambient. The Maxi Heat features an Isuzu power unit and a 191 U.S.-gallon fuel tank, permitting unattended operation for more than 24 hours.

Ground Heaters Inc.

Specifically designed for builders, utilities, municipalities and small construction contractors, Ground Heaters' AC1100 Ground Heater includes more ground thawing and concrete curing capabilities than previous compact Ground Heater models. As with other Ground Heater units, the AC1100 increases productivity by allowing equipment and crews to prepare building sites and pour concrete, indoors and out, all winter long. Able to thaw up to 1,650 square feet of frozen ground at a rate of 1 foot per day, the AC1100 can also heat up to 2,200 square feet of ground to prepare for concrete placement, prevent frost penetration or assure proper concrete curing.

Port-A-Cool

Port-A-Cool units, manufactured by General Shelters of Texas are completely self-contained, portable, evaporative cooling systems offering options for effective cooling when standard air-conditioning may be unavailable, impractical or cost prohibitive. Operating on water and 110v of electricity or compressed air, hot air is pulled through the water-soaked pads, cold air is created by evaporation and dispersed by the fan. It can deliver 15,000 cubic feet per minute of airflow and can average 20 degrees cooler than surrounding air and disburse that air over extremely large areas. Direction of the flow of cool air may also be controlled with ducting.
