Finning Sets U.K. Organizational Structure, Names Hewden Chief

Finning International last week announced the division of its United Kingdom organization into four core lines of business — heavy construction, general construction, power systems, and Hewden.

Finning International last week announced the division of its United Kingdom organization into four core lines of business — heavy construction, general construction, power systems, and Hewden.

The four business units will, over time, be supported by a single back-office operation.

Doug Sprout has been named finance director, Finning Group, U.K. Sprout will be responsible for finance and procurement as well as businesses processes and systems. Neil Dickinson has been named director, heavy construction, responsible for providing products and services relating to Caterpillar heavy construction equipment.

Neal Walker has been appointed general manager, general construction, responsible for establishing a strong channel centered around Caterpillar’s small and medium-sized construction equipment. David Oakes was named director, power systems, responsible for Finning’s U.K. Caterpillar power-systems business.

Brian Sherlock was named director, Hewden Stuart plc.

Finning is one of the world’s largest Caterpillar equipment dealers, representing Cat in western Canada, the U.K., and four South American countries. It owns Hewden, the U.K.’s largest equipment rental company.

Based in Vancouver, B.C., Finning is No. 17 on the RER 100.
