LiuGong, one of the world’s largest wheel loader manufacturers, today opened its Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore. The 45,000-square-foot facility will support corporate functions and serve as LiuGong’s sales hub, technical support and trading hub for Asia Pacific, excluding China where the company is based. The facility is also the first spare parts distribution center for Southeast Asia and the Pacific islands.

LiuGong expects its Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore to generate more than $50 million in revenues in the first year of operations with expected annual growth rate of 30 percent.

“The launch of our headquarters in Singapore is a significant milestone for LiuGong,” said Wang Xiaohua, chairman of Guangxi LiuGong Machinery Corp. “A significant number of our customers are based in the Asia Pacific region, and we expect a substantial percent of our business to flow through this center in the next few years. The office in Singapore will strengthen our presence in this region and contribute towards our goal of becoming one of the world’s top construction equipment makers.”

The office will serve Southeast Asia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and other islands in the Pacific. The company will now be able to deliver spare parts to areas within two days where that used to take two weeks, reducing production downtime significantly.

LiuGong will also provide training opportunities for employees at the new center, particularly those from the research and development department. “This will allow our staff to interact more closely with our customers in this region, and gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of the needs of each local market,” added Wang. “Not only will this allow us to react to customers more effectively, it will also help us develop products that will best meet the needs of the different markets.”

Singapore was chosen for its pro-business infrastructure and strong government support. LiuGong hopes to contribute to the growing construction equipment industry in Singapore and the region. LiuGong now has 10 global offices.
