The Next Energy and Resources Co., a provider of used solar-power systems, is preparing to launch a rental service offering the systems for outdoor daytime events, according to Japanese wire services. The company will promote the system as a stand-alone generator to power microphones and amplifiers at events.

The rental system will have two 60-watt panels and a storage battery capable of storing enough power to provide 100 watts for three hours at indoor and nighttime events.

The setup also has an inverter and other peripheral equipment and can be connected to a power cable to automatically connect to the grid when the battery runs low.
