Key Innovation: Portable and fixed gateways that allow continuous and automatic surveillance of tagged assets.

Manufacturer’s Description: Introducing improved site- specific experiences enabled by its powerful ecosystem, ZTR is offering two new gateways: the G210 Portable and the G200 Fixed. The telematics provider is going beyond traditional cellphone app-based approaches which can only locate tools on demand when a user is actively scanning with their phone. The new gateways are transforming the way tools are managed on the jobsite and in rental yards to open up new possibilities for connection and visibility to tools, accessories and attachments.

With the G210 and G200, an ‘area of interest’ can be established that automatically scans for the last-seen location of tools equipped with ZTR T[1] series tags. Rental branch personnel often walk the yard to find out if a tool is available and where it’s located. They spend a lot of time on regular cycle counts. And this can mean significant delays for customers waiting to learn if the tools they need are available.

Imagine being able to reduce inventory count time by up to 90 percent or saving almost $40,000 in lost inventory each year (based on an average mid-sized rental branch). ZTR gateways help eliminate much of this inefficiency by enabling automatic and continuous surveillance of tagged assets, offering last-seen locations, expediting cycle counts, and providing up-to-date and accurate inventory listings.

The G210 and G200 can reduce jobsite tool hoarding and increase accountability to return tools to designated containers so they’re available for a productive next shift. Tag data is collected by the gateways where it is sent securely via cellular connection into the ONE i3 platform. Now with a family of four gateway types (and growing), ZTR gateway technologies create the network coverage users need to track their smaller assets. The ZTR ecosystem is paving the way for further networking automation innovation, and creativity to connect assets, businesses, and worksites.
