World of Concrete last week announced an addition to its Education Program in 2011. A new seminar on Advanced Technology and Hybridization in Vehicles and the new Green Vehicle Showcase will be presented at the show in Las Vegas Jan. 17-21.

This initiative is an educational alliance between World of Concrete and CALSTART, a member-supported organization of more than 140 firms, fleets and agencies worldwide dedicated to supporting a growing high-tech, clean transportation industry that cleans the air, creates jobs, cuts imported oil and reduces global warming emissions.

CALSTART manages the Hybrid Truck Users Forum (HTUF) for the U.S. Army, a program that works to speed the development and deployment of hybrid trucks across different commercial vocations. This seminar allows HTUF program participants — including users, suppliers, and OEMs — to share their knowledge with WOC attendees for the first time.

This seminar will feature industry experts focusing on green engine technologies, changing EPA regulations, and hybrid vehicles under development in the commercial construction sector. The Green Vehicle Showcase will feature companies and associations offering literature and equipment to help educate WOC attendees on this topic. Details on this seminar and showcase will be available online in November.

World of Concrete 2011 will showcase numerous indoor/outdoor exhibits in more than a half-million gross square feet of exhibit space, with more than 100 educational sessions, product demonstrations, numerous spectator competitions, and forums providing relevant solutions, products and technologies to WOC attendees.
