Richmond’s Rental Works Acquires Large Industrial Space for Headquarters

Rental Works, Richmond, Va., has purchased a 184,720-square-foot building and 9.43 acres of land for $2.1 million for a new headquarters, according to local press reports.

Rental Works, Richmond, Va., has purchased a 184,720-square-foot building and 9.43 acres of land for $2.1 million for a new headquarters, according to local press reports. Rental Works plans to occupy about 38,000 suqare feet in the building and rent out the rest. The company plans to keep open its current facility as well as a branch operation in Midlothian, Va.

Rental Works is a general rental company which offers a wide range of equipment and tools, including lawn-and-garden equipment, compaction machines, earthmoving equipment and aerial work platforms. The company also sells heaby equipment and the additional space will enable it to expand that offering. The new facility’s proximity to Interstate 95 is an added benefit according to Rental Works’ owners.

The company was founded in 1986 by current co-owner Raymond Parker, who bought out his original partners. Co-owner Billy Hidell joined the firm in 2013. Rental Works has 25 employees and with the expanded operation expects to add additional staff.
