RER Magazine spotlights Telescopic Handlers from JLG 1500SJ telescopic boomlift, Genie GTH-844B telehandler, Manitou MT 5519 telescopic handler, Caterpillar Cat TL1255C telehandler, JCB RS5-19 telescopic handler, Bobcat V417 VersaHandler two-stage boom can lift, and more.

JLG

JLG offers the 1500SJ telescopic boomlift, which features a 150-foot telescopic boom designed to deliver greater work envelope flexibility and improved reach at elevated heights. It is the first boomlift that elevates operators 150 feet requiring only a weight permit, the maker says. It includes a telescopic jib that extends up to 25 feet for additional vertical and horizontal reach. In addition, the 1500SJ features standard steel hoods and a new graphic LCD display in the platform.

Manitou

The new model MT 5519 telescopic handler features a low-profile, compact frame with an overall height of 6 feet, 4 inches, and a tight turning radius of 11 feet, giving it the ability to maneuver in low buildings and confined jobsites. The low-profile boom reaches to a height of 19 feet, 1 inch, and has a 5,500-pound lift capacity. Internal wet disc brakes are standard equipment for better stopping capability and longer life. A spring-applied hydraulic-release parking brake is automatically applied when the engine is shut off or by manually pressing a rocker switch — a design that eliminates the cable stretch and adjustments associated with competitive machines.

Caterpillar

The Cat TL1255C telehandler, the largest machine in the new C Series range, has a maximum lift capacity of 12,000 pounds and a maximum lift height of 54.3 feet. The high-strength boom enables the TL1255C to handle jobsite loads and the large box sections are designed to handle the demands of the side tilt and swing carriages. High boom pivot and side-mounted power module ensure improved, all-around visibility. The TL1255C's Cat C4.4 ACERT engine meets interim Tier 4 emissions regulations. It is specially designed for telehandler applications and can accommodate B20 biofuel.

JCB

JCB introduces its largest and strongest Loadall telescopic handler — the all-new 512-56 — which can elevate a maximum load of 12,000 pounds up to a height of 56 feet. The machine is equipped with axle-mounted stabilizers as standard for improved chassis leveling when the stabilizer legs are down, enabling it to lift massive loads without sacrificing safety. With a side-mounted, 114-hp version of JCB's EPA and CARB-compliant Tier 3 Dieselmax engine, the machine also offers a standard four-speed JCB Powershift transmission. A top-hat boom design uses Waxoyl lubricant that is dry to the touch to prevent sand or dirt from potentially harming the engine.

Bobcat

The V417 VersaHandler two-stage boom can lift more than 4,400 pounds, and its narrow frame and compact size make it easy to enter limited-access areas. This telescopic tool carrier is designed for building sites, landscaping projects and rental companies. The V417 VersaHandler uses the standard-equipped Bob-Tach system, allowing contractors to attach an angle broom to sweep away dirt and debris, or a bucket for grading and backfilling.
