EDCO's Hand-Held Saw Kaddy is an accessory for the EDCO 16-inch hand-held saw that gives it walk-behind saw capability. On its own, the EDCO Hand-Held saw is designed for production cutting of concrete, masonry, asphalt, stone and metal. The saw has flush cutting capabilities and creates window and door openings. Connecting the Kaddy turns the hand-held saw into a walk-behind saw capable of short-run sawing applications like cutting contraction joints.
General Equipment Company’s CS8 Random Crack Saw is specifically designed for following and cutting irregular crack patterns in both asphalt and concrete surfaces. Utilizing an 8-inch diameter, dry-cut diamond blade, the saw features a center-mounted blade designed to yield smooth-sided cuts for proper crack filling procedures. Power is supplied by a 13-horsepower Honda GXV390, 4-stroke engine equipped with a Cyclone-type air filter system for protection against fine-grained dust contamination. The maximum cutting width is 1/2 inch and the maximum straight-line cutting depth is 1-1/2 inches.
The Hilti Hand-held gas saws DSH 700-X and DSH 900-X incorporate Easy Start technology that automatically sets the proper amount of choke for more first-pull starts. The company’s Cyclone Air Filtration System removes most of the dust and debris from the engine air intake flow using centrifugal force. It suctions the cleanest air from the center of the cyclone, which is then sent to the filter. The DSH 700-X is a 70cc saw available in 12-inch model, while the DSH 900-X is a 90cc saw in 14- and 16-inch models. An easy-to-access and change starter rope, air filter housing and a reinforced blade guard are elements designed to facilitate maintenance.
The MS 360 is a masonry saw with a cutting depth of 5 inches. It is Husqvarna’s first masonry saw equipped with the company’s water management system that minimizes water use via a unique distribution that keeps the work piece dry and the workplace clean. The optional adjustable stand enables one person to move MS 360 around the jobsite. The optional stand also is designed so that the operator can position the saw in various heights or collapse it with one hand. The saw comes with the company’s VARI-CUT Turbo blade and is ideal to use for pavers, bricks, stone and concrete block.
The MK Diamond CX-3E1 electric saw is engineered for indoor cutting where use of a gas powered saw could be hazardous. The 1.5 hp heavy-duty motor provides the necessary power needed to step cut through a concrete slab. The thermally protected 120-volt, single-phase motor operates on a regular 20 amp household circuit. The CX-3E1 Electric Saw has a 14-inch blade capacity with a 5 1/2-inch depth-of-cut capacity and can cut within one inch of wall. The built-in water distribution system supplies water to both sides of blade for cooling and dust control.
The CC148XL-EE First-Cut saw is part of MTA Distributors’ True Early Entry System for early entry cutting. The lightweight, walk-behind saw has a spring-loaded skid plate guard that keeps the skid plate down on the green concrete, thus preventing spalling. With a six-inch blade capacity, the maximum cutting depth is 1 3/16 inches. The blades turn in an up-cut direction, a design meant to keep debris out of the cut line. The blade is lowered into the cut with a raise and lower mechanical system with spring-loaded release. For operator comfort, a telescoping handle adjusts to the operator’s height.
