MILWAUKEE — Steve Brown, director and founding partner of Milwaukee and London-based public relations agency SE10 Creative, died last month after a long battle with brain cancer. He was 39.

Before founding SE10, Brown worked in the construction industry press for more than 10 years in the United States as well as England. Brown worked in various editorial positions with Cranes Today, Executive Hire News, Equipment Today and D&Ri.

Brown was an accomplished writer with equally penetrating insight into the technical aspects of equipment and the business dynamics of the construction and rental industries. His agency, SE10, represents Manitowoc Crane Group, Volvo Construction Equipment, Metso Minerals and Sandvik Tamrock.

Brown was popular among clients, readers and members of the trade press, well known for tenacious dedication, personal warmth and a great sense of humor.

Brown is survived by his wife, Mary, and 3-year-old son, Ray.
