British hydraulic lift rental specialist Lavendon Group last month acquired powered access equipment company AMP Access Ltd. for an estimated U.S. $10 million. A portion of the purchase price will be dependent on AMP’s financial performance over the next two years, through the end of May 2008.

As part of the transaction, Lavendon will assume AMP’s net debt of about $5 million.

AMP operates a fleet of 525 powered access machines through a four-branch network in the southwest region of the United Kingdom. The company’s volume for the 12 months ended May 31, 2006, was about $9 million. AMP will continue to operate under its own identity, Lavendon officials said.

Lavendon Group has branches in the U.K., Germany, France, Spain and the United Arab Emirates. Its total volume in 2004 was more than $200 million.
