A workplace accident at the Caterpillar plant in South Milwaukee left a worker dead last week, according to Injury Lawyers News. The fatal accident occurred in the weld shop area of the plant. Caterpillar said the worker was in the weld shop area when he was hit by a welded structure that was being moved inside the plant.
The worker has not been publicly identified.
Caterpillar is cooperating with investigations into the accident, and is offering counseling for co-workers. Production employees were sent home following the deadly accident.
