Hyundai Heavy Industries this week exhibited its eco-friendly 9A Series and hybrid excavators.

Hyundai Heavy Industries this week exhibited its eco-friendly 9A Series and hybrid excavators. The new 9A series differs from the predecessor 9 Series because of the introduction of EU Stage IIIB and Tier 4 Interim compliant diesel engines. The 9A series has reduced exhaust emissions and improved fuel economy while retaining the power of the 9 series.

Hyundai also displayed its 120-ton, R1200-9 excavator, which, the company said, was the biggest machine on display at Intermat.

Hyundai Heavy recorded sales growth of 10 percent in the first quarter, with about U.S. $1.05 billion in revenue. The company announced a global annual sales target of U.S. $4.56 billion this year. Hyundai posted a 50-percent sales leap in 2011.
